Teaching Methods

We offer a variety of teaching methods to ensure you reach your dance goals.

Private Lessons are a one-on-one lesson with an instructor who will give you individual attention and adjust their teaching time based on your specific needs. Instructors focus primarily on technique, styling, musicality, and repetition to help you meet your dance goals. A record of what you are learning will be kept to keep track of your progress.

Group Lessons are a great way to learn new dance steps in a social environment, develop your leading and following habits as you dance with a variety of partners, or practice what you’ve learned in your private lessons. Some group lessons are offered on a drop-in basis, while other group lessons are offered as a series.

Practice Parties will allow you to practice all your new moves in a comfortable, relaxed, and social environment. You will have fun with your fellow students and our instructors.

Out on the Town events give many of our students encouragement to go out in the real world and dance in front of strangers. We occasionally organize an evening for a small group to go to a local hot spot. This is one of our favorite activities as we get go show off what we do best – have fun and dance!

Medal Balls are graduation ceremonies where students graduate from one dance level to next. We invite our graduates to perform a dance with their instructor. This is a great event for each graduating student to show what they have learned to their friends, family members, and other students. Our medal balls are a fun, elegant evening to celebrate a student’s achievement.

Competition / Dancesport is a very exciting event for those students with a competitive edge. Students and their instructors compete against other dance couples in a specific dance level and/or age category. Competitons are held locally and throughout the country.

Showcase / Exhibition is a public performance with your teacher. We gather a large group of students who each perform a professionally choreographed routine to a specific song. The showcase theme and music genre changes each year, but it always provides a great opportunity to see our students at their best.
